HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE FOCACCIA

FOCACCIA is undoubtedly the queen of snacks in Italy. It's amazing how you can get such a delicious result with just a few ingredients. Here we offer you the simplest version of this baked product, homemade and available to everyone to enjoy in a salty version.

Instructions
 

  • 1. Mix the fresh yeast dissolved in water with the flour
    2. We knead for 2 minutes, add the salt and continue kneading with our hands for 2 more minutes
    3. Cover our bowl and let the dough relax for 15/20 minutes without moving
    4. Next we make some reinforcement folds to the dough (we will have to repeat this process: rest and folds 3 times)
    5. Let the dough ferment at room temperature until it doubles in size (if it's cold we can put the dough in the oven only with the light on)
    6. Divide the dough into 2 parts and place it on 2 oven trays (40x30), sprinkle with corn grits and leave to ferment for 30 minutes
    7. With our hands we make the typical holes of the focaccia while we adjust the dough to the size of the tray
    8. Vaporize with a spray bottle water and extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of maldon salt
    9. Let ferment for 30 minutes while the oven heats up
    10. Bake for 18/20 minutes at 240 °c / 464 °F Remove from the oven and serve hot
    TIP: Focaccia can be cut in half and used in place of bread to make delicious hot and cold sandwiches
